The People’s Art Exhibition Dublin

The People’s Art Exhibition this weekend in Dublin

The weather is good and the outdoor art exhibition around St. Stephens Green, Dublin this weekend promises to be great.

I have been busy preparing for this exhibition and took full advantage of the sunshine in the garden today.

No matter how much room I thought I had, it was never enough! Frames, paint, brushes, hanging cords, screws, screwdrivers, tape, wrapping …. the list just goes on.  A busy day, a fun day and everything all packed up for the morning.

If you’re in Dublin this weekend, be sure to drop by.  There will be over a hundred artists exhibiting around St. Stephens Green with  super original and unique paintings to suit everyone’s taste.

People’s Art Dublin is a voluntary, part time, non profit making group, brought together by Dublin City Council to promote the visual arts to the public of Dublin. Each year after expenses are paid, donations are made to various charities.

Sorting the Nets

Fishermen gather round – they sort the fishing nets as they prepare for the evening catch!

Frequent travels to the west coast of Ireland are always a pleasure.

No matter what time of year I visit, there is always something different to see, a different light, changing hues, and the wild Atlantic continues to battle its way to our shores.

Visits to wonderful coastlines such as Dogs Bay and Gurteen just outside the picturesque small fishing village of Roundstone, Co. Galway are particularly special.

This painting is a reflection of one of those special moments  when I saw fishermen assemble to prepare for the evening catch – the silhouettes against the evening sky create a touch of mystery!
