I am a self taught artist and so my process tends to be more intuitive rather than analytical. I have a background in financial services – four children later and much juggling to keep everything afloat, I took the brave decision to pursue my lifelong passion in the creative process.
My paintings are inspired by the love of the Irish landscape. I am drawn to capture the play between light and shadow, rugged coastlines, earthy boglands and misty mountain-tops.
Fascinated by the amazing colour and cloud formations of the Irish sunset – I watch those clouds evolve and dissolve over the horizon. Hence, it could be said, that I go around with my head in the clouds. Capturing the essence of this beauty is my goal.
My preferred medium is oils. I also like to work with a palette knife while creating layers of rich texture and vibrancy.
Inspiration all around me
Surrounded by magnificent scenery, I am blessed to live at the foothills of the Dublin mountains. It’s fun to go hillwalking, armed with camera and ready to capture the landscape, sketch or work up later in my studio. I then rearrange and edit to create harmonious compositions.
Weather permitting, I paint outdoors (en plein air). This creates a sense of immediacy to capture the changing light which can be somewhat challenging but rewarding at the same time. I am a regular visitor to Europe’s largest open air painting festival in Wexford Art in the Open.
Exploring the world through travel gives rise to experience new panoramas and cultures. It has an inspirational impact on my work and creates a different perspective. This is something I enjoy going in whatever destination the painting journey dictates.

I have had two very successful Dublin solo shows. My work is represented in a number of venues including The Blaithin de Sachy Art Gallery in Clifden, Co. Galway. I exhibit in many group exhibitions including Art Source, Ideal Homes and The House Event.
You can catch me most Sundays at the open art exhibition in beautiful Georgian Merrion Square and at The People’s Art in St. Stephens Green, Dublin at regular intervals throughout the year (not quite so frequent when it’s cold – Brrrrr!)
So what can I do for you?
I believe that art is for everyone. I aim to keep my artwork at competitive prices, thereby making it attractive for you to brighten a dull space with one of my paintings. Hopefully this will bring you enjoyment for many years to come.
