Carpé Diem on the Titanic

The sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912 was brought to life once again by the fictionalised epic romance film, “The Titanic” in 1997. With this in mind, I wanted to portray an image of a handsome couple swearing undying love for each other. The scene was set against the backdrop of a threatening skyline and contrasted against the heavy, sturdy bow of the ship as it sailed on its ill-fated maiden voyage.
For me, this prompts an emotional response and an acknowledgement of the frailty of the human condition and our unknown destiny.
