Eternal LIght 20×30 inches Oil on Canvas Studio View He wishes for the cloths of Heaven
Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths
Enwrought with golden and silver light
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light
I would spread the cloths under your feet
But I, being poor, have only my dreams
I have spread my dreams under your feet
Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams!

The Giants Causeway – 10 x 12″ Oil on Board
The Giants Causeway lies at the foot of the basalt cliffs located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is one of those places I had heard about, and read about so many times. It went on my list of “must-see” attractions.
The Giants Causeway was included on the World Heritage site list in November 1986.
It is said that to walk along T
he Giants Causeway is like a voyage back in time. There are many colour coded walking trails to guide you in order to take in the magnificent scenery and wildlife.
It is made up of some 40,000 massive black basalt columns sticking out of the Atlantic ocean.
Geological studies of these formations over the last 300 years have greatly contributed to the development of the earth sciences. They show that this striking landscape was caused by volcanic activity during the Tertiary, some 50-60 million years ago.
The dramatic sight has inspired legends of The Irish Giant
striding over the sea to Scotland. Fionn mac Cumhaill
There are many other visitor attractions close by that are worth a visit, like the famous
Carrick a Rede rope bridge and the Dark Hedges
It was a pleasure to witness the majesty of
The Giants Causeway and the Atlantic coastline with its unique rock formations full of intrigue and mystery.

Fishermen gather round – they sort the fishing nets as they prepare for the evening catch!
Frequent travels to the west coast of Ireland are always a pleasure.
No matter what time of year I visit, there is always something different to see, a different light, changing hues, and the wild Atlantic continues to battle its way to our shores.
Visits to wonderful coastlines such as Dogs Bay and Gurteen just outside the picturesque small fishing village of Roundstone, Co. Galway are particularly special.
This painting is a reflection of one of those special moments when I saw fishermen assemble to prepare for the evening catch – the silhouettes against the evening sky create a touch of mystery!
