 My Journey as a Future Shaper at Trinity College Dublin

As the world continues to evolve, so do our roles as individuals in shaping the future. At Trinity College Dublin, I embarked on a life-changing experience starting a post-grad in Creative & Cultural Entrepreneurship. Little did I know that my journey would take unexpected turns due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with determination, resilience, and a passion for creativity, I found myself thriving in this unique learning environment. In this blog post, I will share my enriching experiences, the inspiring people I met, and the invaluable lessons I learned during my time at Trinity College.

Embracing Diverse Subjects and Learning Styles:

My adventure on this course began in January, and I was eager to delve into fascinating subjects like Critical Thinking, Growth Mindsets, Journey Mapping, and more. Trinity College provided a nurturing space where creatives from various disciplines came together. Writers, actors, photographers, potters, designers, artists, and story-tellers were among the many talented individuals who enriched the learning experience.

Adapting to Challenges with Resilience:

Just as our journey was gaining momentum, the unforeseen outbreak of COVID-19 forced us to adapt rapidly. Trinity College’s quick response to shifting the course online ensured that we lost no time in continuing our learning discovery. Despite the challenges, the spirit of resilience prevailed among the students. We explored every digital communication method available, from Blackboard to Zoom, WhatsApp with lots more tools that I encountered along the way that would foster good communication and build a sense of togetherness and camaraderie.

Fostering Creativity and Collaboration:

The heart of our experience was the collaboration and creativity that flourished within the group. Through exciting project collaborations and engaging workshops, we unleashed our imaginations and came up with brilliant ideas. Our diverse backgrounds provided unique perspectives, leading to enriching discussions and innovative solutions to complex problems.

Gratitude to Inspirational Tutors:

The journey would not have been as enjoyable and insightful without the guidance and support of our generous tutors. Karl Thomas PhD and Gillian Roddie, among others, shared their expertise and passion in their respective fields of knowledge. Their dedication and commitment to fostering a fun and interactive learning environment were truly inspiring. For those considering embarking on this journey at Trinity College Dublin, I wholeheartedly recommend this transformative course. As the management consultant and educator Peter Drucker once said, “The best way to predict your future is to create it.” This course provides the perfect platform to unleash your creativity, expand your horizons, and embrace the potential to shape a brighter future.

Conclusion:

Being a Future Shaper at Trinity College Dublin was a truly enriching experience. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the journey allowed me to explore fascinating subjects, collaborate with inspiring individuals, and develop resilience in the face of uncertainty. The support and guidance of our tutors played a crucial role in making this journey a memorable one. I encourage everyone to embrace the possibilities, have fun, and let creativity flow, for the future is in our hands to shape.
