Sunlight through Gap of Dunloe

550.00

Sunlight through the Gap of Dunloe is one of the most stunningly beautiful parts of County Kerry and stretches through the MacGuillicuddy Reeks mountain ranges in the west and the Purple Mountain Group range in the east. We travelled to Kate Kearney’s Cottage  and took a jaunting car through the six mile pass. Once through the gap, boats are waiting for the homeward journey via the enchanting Upper, Middle & Lower Lakes to historic Ross Castle where coaches await for the journey back.

You could walk all the way, however, be warned that it is a total distance of 14 miles in all and takes about an hour to drive. It’s hilly territory and can be tough going.  We even had to dismount the cart to give the poor ole horse a chance in the heat, that said, they are well used to the journey.
