Gurteen Bay

Just outside the lovely harbour village of Roundstone, Co Galway, on the road to Clifden, there lies my favourite beaches in Ireland.

They form a tombolo, jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean, like two horseshoes back to back. The name Gurteen derives from the Irish Goirtín meaning ‘small plot’ or ‘small field’. Dream of strolling this beach listening to the quiet lap of the waves.

Oil painting measuring 50 x 76 cm or 20 x 30 inches framed.
