Safe Haven

Safe Haven  is the kind of place you would like to be when you are surrounded by the forces and power of the ocean and seek refuge? A place to shelter and feel safe.

The Inspiration to paint this cave came from a visit to Ailwee Cave in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare.

Caves are magical underground wonders and have always held a fascination for me.  Wander through them and think about who lives here.  With the forces of the ocean outside crashing against the rocks, the cave can become a safe haven for those that seek shelter, a secure, safe place. A sea cave, also known as a littoral cave, is a type of cave formed primarily by the wave action of the sea. The primary process involved is erosion.  You can learn more about sea caves here
