Skellig Michael

Skellig Michael is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Ireland’s most important sites for breeding seabirds both in terms of size of colonies and diversity of species. It is also the location of an early Christian monastery.  It can be seen from any vantage point on the Ring of Kerry. Controversially, permission was granted for scenes from Star Wars – The Force Awakens to be shot there in 2015.
